We are humbled to be entrusted with three prominent local estates included in this amazing event.....

Donald Sutton was graduate of Ithaca College. US Army 1943-1945. Bronze star recipient. Majority of his career was spent in Salem Virginia in various capacities at Roanoke College. He was the owner and director of Camp Wallawhatoola in Millboro Springs, VA and member of the Greatest Generation. His collection features: household goods, furnishings including Henkel Harris, area rugs, China and crystal, sterling silver and silver plate, large amounts of camping, hiking and survival gear, fly fishing flies, fly tying table, vises and supplies, fishing tackle, large amount of equestrian gear including saddle, saddle stand, bridles and more, tools, knives, many solar items, battery charges and small power stations, many art selections including Thomas Kinkade, Grandma Moses prints, Dwight D. Eisenhower prints, Frederic Remington prints, many vintage books dating back to early 1800's including several books on the Civil War, flat screen tv's, Orvis, Cabelas and Coleman gear and clothes, jelly cupboard, adjustable bed, lift assist recliner, mobility scooters, and much more. 


Mary Givens was a noted local artist and many of her works are featured in this event. Her collection also includes works by local artists Ed Bordett, W.R. Pierce and C.P. Wood, several examples of fine sterling silver, coins, Morganton antique furniture, various rugs, primitives, assorted antique furniture, stemware, barware, china sets, Pyrex, wicker furniture, and several hundred board feet of fine lumber.

Leonora Garth was an astute collector of unique items of all categories. Her selections include:  a set of four mid-century Gideon Kramer Ion Chairs, a Norwegian Stressless recliner, a very well kept 2006 Volvo S40 & Moots bike. An outstanding art collection including original paintings by local Roanoke artists Ann Glover, Carol Hoge & the late Harriet Stokes. Signed artists’ proofs, multiple first edition signed watercolor prints by acclaimed artist Rhett Thurman along with many other beautifully framed pieces. A gorgeous turquoise and blue Van Briggle pitcher, 1950’s glass vase from Sweden, Japanese pottery, rare retired Llardro NAO geisha figurines, mid 1800s bisque figurines, vintage vaseline glass. Italian treasures include jewelry, dinnerware, Capodimonte pottery, a Solascion Marquetry music box, a hand stitched quilt & more. Antique crocks, Corning Ware, Haviland & Lenox china, Victorian brass, & a graduated pewter pitcher set. Antique furniture includes a gorgeous walnut pie safe, multiple drop leaf tables, hand painted sideboard/rolling bar, a lady’s secretary desk/table combo, also Henkel Harris, Young Hinkle, Cherokee Furniture Company pieces and much more.
